The All Belgium Kendo Federation is the central link between the two federal federations VKIJF and BKR that are responsible for the practise of Kendo, Iaido & Jodo (Kendo, Iaido and Jodo are martial arts which use the Japanese sword or katana.) in Belgium and abroad, it is a member of the European Kendo Federation (EKF) and the International Kendo Federation (IKF). The ABKF is also responsible for the practise of Jukendo and Tankendo (Jukendo and Tankendo are martial arts which use the bayonet mounted on the rifle or dismounted) in Belgium and is in relationship with the "All Japan Jukendo Federation" (AJJF). The Belgian Kendo Championships are confirmed and subscriptions are now open! They will be held in Seneffe Sunday the 14th of April 2024.
Please fill in the form (1 per dojo!) to register your members for the championships.

All participants have to be regular registered members of BKR or VKIJF and follow the official ABKF and EKF rules.
As last year, there will be no team competition on this day (it will be held at a later date).
We will also have examinations from 1st kyu up until 5th dan after the championships.
Congratulations to Wesley Haeke for his achievement in kendo ! We are proud to announce that Wesley Haeke passed 7th Dan during the kendo referee seminar gradings, held on February 4th in Brussels.

EKFIt is with sadness that we inform you that Otsubo sensei Kyoshi 7th dan Kendo passed away.
He had been helping during the winter seminar in Belgium for more than 20 years. We thanks him for his involvement in the Kendo development in Belgium.
All our condolences to his family, students and friends, may he rest in peace!
